In October 1998, my wife Karen and I made a seachange, leaving the corporate world and Sydney lifestyle behind. Forster was always in our sights, being originally a Gloucester local with many family and friends in the area and having always holidayed here. Initially on relocating, I continued contract work and commuted regularly to Sydney. However, whilst financially rewarding, this did not satisfy my desire to really become part of the community. With two kids arriving soon after our arrival, ultimately a decision was made that I wanted permanent local employment and Real Estate was the one field I was really passionate about. With a background in law, extensive customer service experience in senior management positions and a passion for property, I believed I could make a very successful career change. I was fortunate to be offered 3 jobs when I approached all offices in town, ultimately choosing The Professionals and here I am today. After a rewarding and enjoyable few years in sales I seized the opportunity to purchase an equity share in the business. We have experienced a difficult economic climate and some emotional times but with the support of a wonderful team the business has stayed strong and continued to grow. The future is very exciting for me. With my business partner Darrell, we have an absolute determination to build The Professionals in Forster as unmistakeable market leaders in all aspects of our business. We have made a number of changes, we are growing our team even in a difficult environment and we are building a team culture that will be the foundation of our success and the envy of all. We have a leadership responsibility to make this all happen and that is where my energies are devoted. I think the results speak for themselves and we continue to seek opportunities to improve and grow. I also believe in a balance so I will always ensure I and all my team have quality family time and take a moment to enjoy and appreciate the incredible place we call home. With two boys aged eleven & twelve there is never a dull moment in the Crowther household. We are all outdoor lovers and keen sportsmen. When the boys aren't playing soccer, cricket, touch footy or basketball you will find us at the beach, on the surfboards, dangling a line and whenever possible in the mountains on our skis. I love this career and I take it very seriously. Real Estate, like a few other professions, unfortunately gets targeted by the media for the things a minority do wrong. It is also a field that everyone has an opinion on so you are in the spotlight. To me, this presents a fantastic opportunity to differentiate yourself and you will succeed if you do. If at all times, no matter what, you maintain absolute integrity in any dealings, you will secure a very successful career in real estate. This is my motto and the value I instil and demand from the entire Professionals team.
